We love the incredibly detailed dies that Stampin’ UP! offers. We’ve got so many of them, keeping them organized is a must & a challenge. Mom and I are going to share the way that we keep our dies organized & some tips, tricks and techniques when using dies.
Tip #1 : Photocopy the set before use
Having a copy of the dies will help with clean up. I can’t tell you how many times mom and I clean up and find a lonely die and have to hunt down the set later. Having a copy of the dies as they were packaged will help ensure you have all your dies when you are putting them away after a project.

Tip #2 : Label the back side
Mom and I store our die sets so we can see the dies, but that puts the die name at the back. We add a little label to the top of the envelope to help us find them easier. We also alphabetize them to make them easier to find and put away.
Tip #3 : Put the dies on a sheet of magnet
It can be tricky to get the dies on and off the sheet they come on, and over time the adhesive looses its stick. We like to transfer the dies on a sheet of magnet. This will help keep them in place and makes getting them off much easier.
Tip #4 : Use wax paper
This creates a “non stick” barrier. Layer the wax paper between your paper and the die prior to running through your die machine. Once you remove this should help the paper come off the die much easier!
Tip #5 : Use adhesive sheets for detailed dies
Stampin’ UP! has these great adhesive sheets that you apply to your card stock prior to cutting out using your die & it makes the adhering much easier! You can purchase the adhesive sheets here.
Tip #6 : Use Post-It Notes to Hold Dies in Place
We find that it can be hard to keep some dies in place, especially these fabulous border dies. One trick we love is to use post it notes to help hold the die in place while we run through the die machine.

I like all the tips! With the wax paper I struggle because I forget where the wax paper goes. Maybe, paper to paper would help me remember. Thanks!
